The tri-state mutual aid association(TSMAA) is a partnership of 47 Fire and Rescue Agencies in Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee working together to provide superior services to serve and protect the 13 county metro area around the Chattanooga, TN/North Georgia, Bledsoe, Bradley, Hamilton, Meigs, McMinn, Polk, Rhea Sequatchie counties in Tennessee, and Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, Walker, Whitfield counties in Georgia.

The Tri-State Mutual Aid Association provides routine 2nd alarm through 5th alarm response to fire, haz-mat, and specialized rescue incidents generated by man-made, technological or environmental threat, as well as as unusual events such as firefighter funerals or major water outages. TSMAA will mobilize and deploy resources to prevent loss of life, human suffering and further damage to property.

The Mutual Aid Agreement allows the member organizations to combine resources when needed to expand the manpower, equipment and special services that are offered to the individual counties. By working together, the Tri-State Mutual Aid Association are able to provide faster responses, larger turnout, and diverse specialized solutions to emergency situations.
